We are planning to organize ‘Gram Yatra’ in Maharashtra on 7th and 8th Feb.09. Main purpose is to find out business opportunities in rural area. This is two days journey by bus in which only selected students will participate from different colleges. They will interact with villagers and become a part of their lifestyle while staying in the villages and enjoying the rural life with the food also. Students will find out their health, social, economical problems and try to find out solutions for it.

Hivrebazar-
Mr. Popatrao Pawar a commerce graduate took initiative and developed the village with the help of other people. The village has awarded by so many state and national awards. You can refer a book HIVREBAZARCHI YASHOGATHA in Marathi Author- Popatrao Pawar. Please refer Lokmat Newspaper on 31.1.09. There is an article on Shri Popatrao Pawar.
Suryagram- From last ten years Mr. Nilkanth Bhide is planning to make this new village which will be self dependent and eco-friendly. He has also founded Surya Shibir an educational camp site which is a famous tourist spot in Pune district. I am working with Mr. Bhide from last six years. This will be a great opportunity for us to become a part of this project.
Why Gram Yatra?
-To know the business opportunities in rural area.
-To celebrate National entrepreneurship week.
-To do a social activity as a part of social responsibility.
Who?
Thirty students, selected for this project from different colleges.
These two days includes visit to Ralegansiddhi and an interaction with Shri Anna Hajare, Visit to Hivarebazar (a village near Ahmadnagar) and an interaction with Shri Popatrao Pawar (who has changed the village). These two villages are developed and set a role model in the country.
On second day we will visit Suryagram a unique concept of Mr. Nilkanth Bhide (A well known businessman and founder of Suryashibir and Suryagram) we will have interaction with him on rural development and entrepreneurship development.
There will be some activities related to this Yatra- E.g. star gazing, trekking and cultural programs with villagers.
There will be selection process and only thirty participants will be selected for this Yatra. As per minimum budget total expenses will be around Rs- 1000/- to 1200/-for two days. we will charge registration fee Rs- 250/-only
This is not a luxurious trip so all facilities will be normal, food will be simple. Our stay will be in the villages, May be in the tent also. So please be ready mentally and physically.
Dear friends, there is no sponsorship for this yatra, so we have to pay minimum charges. Those who are ready to sponsor a participant they can help him/her directly.
